About Us

  • Albany CrossFit is a collective of dedicated trainers brought together by the belief in the Foundations of CrossFit. The stimulus provided is always varied and the results are dramatic. The atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to anyone willing to put in the work.

CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into world-class shape.

CrossFit workouts are functional, varied and intense. They also scale to any ability level--our members range from elite athletes to eighty-something grandmothers--so whatever shape you're starting from, you'll be able to jump right in.

10 components of complete fitness

World Class Fitness

  • Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Looks like we have finally made some head way!  Ryan has put me in touch with some great contacts involved in the local Community and we might have something going as soon as September 1st!  If you have anyone that might be interested please contact me, also if you would like to help out with our program please let me know.  We will be looking for some sponsors to help pay our coaches as well as purchase some equipment for the kids.  I am looking to run a program similar to Steve's Club in New Jersey, check it out.

This is taken from Mt Baker CrossFit - I would like to start a similar program.  If you know of anyone that might be interested please contact Jason and spread the word.

Free Training for Junior High/Middle School Aged Students

We are offering FREE training to up to 20 junior high school aged students who are overweight/obese and need our help. No strings attached.

I have always been concerned about our children. Our children are becoming Type 2 diabetics at an epidemic rate. In MOST situations, with proper nutritional education and suitable exercise, we can avoid the fear of our kids becoming type 2 diabetics. Also, along with the health concerns, the overweight/obese student typically also suffers from depression, low self esteem and embarrassment.

Parents/Guardians, if your student is in need of our help, you must:
1-set an appt with Jason to discuss the program. Call him at 518-221-8531.
2-receive a Physicians Release from the family doctor, allowing the student to enter an exercise program.
3-agree to an appointment with Jason in your home to discuss nutrition and discuss the contents of your refrigerator and pantry and how the contents may help/hinder the goals of the program.
4-agree to consistent attendance by the student. All students are required and expected to train at regularly slotted times, 2-3x per week.
